The Dallas Mavericks announced their 2007-08 season schedule today, which includes 32 nationally televised games. The team has nine games on ESPN, nine on TNT, nine on NBATV and five on ABC.
Dallas begins its 28th season on Wednesday, Oct. 31 in Cleveland as they take on the Eastern Conference Champions. The team opens its seventh season at the American Airlines Center against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, Nov. 3.
The Mavericks nine ESPN telecasts include the season opener Oct. 31 at Cleveland, Nov. 21 at Houston, Dec. 19 vs. Phoenix, Dec. 21 vs. L.A. Clippers, Jan. 4 vs. Miami, Jan. 9 vs. Detroit, Jan. 27 vs. Denver, April 2 vs. Golden State and April 4 at L.A. Lakers.
TNT features the Mavericks nine times. Those games are Nov. 8 at Golden State, Nov. 15 vs. San Antonio, Dec. 6 vs. Denver, Dec. 27 vs. Cleveland, Jan. 31 at Boston, Feb. 14 at Phoenix, Feb. 28 at San Antonio, March 6 vs. Houston and March 27 at Denver.
NBATV also carries nine contests including Nov. 5 vs. Houston, Dec. 3 at Chicago, Dec. 8 vs. Utah, Jan. 2 at Golden State, Jan. 6 at Minnesota, Feb. 25 vs. Chicago, March 3 at Utah, March 30 at Golden State and April 12 at Portland.
Dallas’ five remaining nationally televised games are on ABC. They are Feb. 3 at Detroit, Mar. 2 at L.A. Lakers, March 16 at Miami, March 23 vs. San Antonio and April 6 at Phoenix.
The remaining portion of the Mavericks local television schedule for games on TXA21 and Fox Sports Net will be released shortly. All games can be heard on ESPN 103.3 FM and on KFLC (1270 AM) in Spanish.
The four games against last season’s playoff opponent, Golden State, will be broadcast nationally. The Warriors come to town Jan. 2 (NBATV) and April 2 (ESPN), while Dallas travels to the Bay Area on Nov. 8 (TNT) and March 30 (NBATV).
In November and in March, Dallas spends most of the month at American Airlines Center. The team plays a season-high nine home games in each month.
February, the shortest month of the season, is perhaps the team’s toughest as they play a season-high nine games on the road. Dallas has two one-game stops, two two-game trips and one three-game jaunt.
March features 15 games and nine of which are against playoff opponents from a year ago. Those games are L.A. Lakers (March 2), Utah (March 3), Houston (March 6), New Jersey (March 8), Miami (March 16), L.A. Lakers (March 18), San Antonio (March 23), Denver (March 27) and Golden State (March 30).
Similar to last year, the Mavericks finish the season playing seven of their last 11 games on the road. In fact, six of those games are against playoff teams from last season including Golden State, L.A. Lakers and Phoenix.
