DALLAS-The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed center Kevin Willis for the remainder of the season. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Mavericks signed Willis to a 10-day contract on April 2 and he saw action in two games.

Willis (7-0, 245) has played 20 seasons in the NBA, but has been inactive since he completed the 2004-05 season with the Atlanta Hawks. Born on Sept. 6, 1962, Willis becomes the oldest Maverick in franchise history and the second oldest player in NBA history.

Originally drafted out of Michigan State by the Atlanta Hawks in 1984, Willis leads all active players in games played (1,419 regular season games). He was named All-NBA Third Team in 1992 and was an Eastern Conference All-Star that same year. Willis holds career averages of 12.2 points on 48.7% shooting and 8.4 rebounds in 27.0 minutes per game.
