MAVERICKS TRADE JOHNSON TO HAWKS FOR SECOND ROUND PICK
DALLAS (Feb. 22, 2007)—The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have traded guard Anthony Johnson to the Atlanta Hawks for a 2007 second round pick.
“We would like to thank Anthony for his contributions this season. He’s been a pleasure to be around and is a first class professional. This move gives us flexibility and a valuable pick in a very deep draft,” said General Manager/President of Basketball Operations Donnie Nelson.
Johnson (6-3, 195) played 40 games this season and averaged 3.8 points, 2.0 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 14.1 minutes. The 10-year pro was traded from Indiana for Darrell Armstrong, Rawle Marshall and Josh Powell on June 24, 2006.
