Scott Green went to the front of the line.

DALLAS, April 14 -- Hundreds of fans gathered in front of Reunion Arena on Saturday morning, hoping they would be first to purchase tickets for the Mavs' 2001 playoff home opener. Line stubs were handed out, then a drawing was held to determine who would be the first in line.
Ticket No. 184 out of 430 was drawn, allowing Scott Green, a 17-year-old senior from The Greenhill School, to head up the line. All fans who went down to Reunion Arena were able to purchase tickets during the priority on-sale, presented by shopkooldfw.com.
Once 10 a.m. rolled around, Ticketmaster outlets -- phone and Internet -- sold the remainder of the tickets in less than 15 minutes.
