DALLAS (February 9, 2007) — The NBA announced tonight that Mavericks forward Josh Howard will also represent the Western Conference, along with his teammate Dirk Nowitzki, at the 2007 All-Star Game in Las Vegas on Feb. 18. This marks the fifth time in team history two Mavericks will play together in the All-Star Game.
“It is an honor to be selected to my first All-Star Team,” said Howard. “This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. It is especially gratifying to play along side my teammate Dirk Nowitzki.”
Howard garners All-Star honors for the first time in his four-year career after significantly increasing his production for the Mavericks. This season, Howard is averaging 19.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and a team-high 1.26 steals per game. He was named Western Conference Player of the Week twice this season when he won the honor on consecutive weeks (Dec. 18-24 and Dec. 25-31).
