The Dallas Mavericks have announced their plans for the First Round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs. As the club takes on the Golden State Warriors, the Mavs have come up with a multitude of ways to create excitement for their run to the NBA Finals.

The following is an outline of important information and entertaining activities set to take place during the First Round:


Mavs.com

The Mavs have created a special playoff website section, Mavs Playoff Central, which will officially launch on Saturday, April 21. This site will be the source of all important Playoff information including game times/dates, ticket info, team news, contests and promotions and much more.


FAN-tastic Pregame Parties

Prior to all home games, the Mavs will host pregame parties at the new AT&T Plaza located on the southside of American Airlines Center starting two hours before tipoff. The parties will feature emcees Ben & Skin, music provided by DJ Whiz, performances by the Mavs ManiAACs and Drumline, interactive games and activities, a sign making table and painted fan contest, along with prize giveaways.

During the party, fans will also have the chance to enter American Airlines “The Million Mile Giveaway,” which will feature a different challenge each game to test contestants’ athletic and intellectual abilities. A panel of judges will determine the top participants, who will then compete inside American Airlines Center during a break in game action. One grand prize winner will be chosen each game with the winner receiving 25,000 AAdvantage miles (50,000 miles for any and all home games in Round 4) and two tickets to the Mavs next 2007 home playoff game. The winner will also automatically qualify for the next round of challenges and compete against two new contestants at the next home game.

Game 1:
Giveaway – over 12,000 placards and lighted Lightning Boltz will be placed in seats
Ticket – use tickets marked Round 1, Game A, Home Game 1

Game 2:
Giveaway – over 12,000 placards and lighted Lightning Boltz will be placed in seats and 15,000 car magnets, courtesy of WR Starkey Mortgage

New Mavs Interactive sites

Friends.mavs.com: The official social network of the Dallas Mavericks. It’s a free, safe community open to everyone who wants to show their support for the team. Fans can customize their own page, post their favorite Mavs videos, photos and much more.

Mavswiki.com: An informational website that is a collaboration between the Mavs and their fans, with the goal being to document every game the Mavs have played. The site not only features Mavs history, player and team statistics and game recaps, but also allows fans the opportunity to add their own personal experiences through comments or photographs from games that they have attended.

Playoff Banners
To commemorate the 2007 Playoffs, the Mavs and Stars have installed 82 pole banners around American Airlines Center, along with larger supergraphic banners on the South and West side of the building.

Watch Parties
Dave & Buster’s will be the official home for Mavs away game watch parties. Fans can join the Mavs ManiAACs and Street Team at the 75 and Walnut Hill location one hour prior to tipoff.

Mavs Merchandise
Fans have three ways to get their game on when it comes to the latest Dallas Mavericks authentic appearal, jerseys, collectibles and much more. They can visit the Dallas Mavericks “Ultimate Fan Shop” at NorthPark Center, log on to mavgear.com, or visit the fan shops at American Airlines Center.


TXA 21, ESPN Radio 103.3 FM and Spanish Radio Updates

TXA 21
TXA 21, the broadcast partner for the Mavs, will be televising all First Round games. Coverage will be begin one hour prior to tipoff. Bob Ortegel will provide color commentary, while Mark Followill will handle play-by-play. Laura Green will continue as sideline reporter.

ESPN Radio 103.3 FM
ESPN Radio 103.3 FM will carry all Mavs playoff games and will feature Chuck Cooperstein calling all the action, with Brad Davis providing as analyst.

99.1 KFZO-FM La Calle (New Spanish Radio for playoffs)
All Mavs playoff games can be heard on 99.1 KFZO-FM La Calle. Victor Villalba will continue to call all the action as the voice of the Dallas Mavericks Spanish Broadcast.
