Mavs Name Strength & Conditioning Coach
DALLAS (July 30, 2002) - The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have named Robert Hackett strength and conditioning coach.
Hackett joins the Mavericks after spending seven seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies in the same capacity.
Prior to his role with the Grizzlies, Hackett spent four years as a strength coach for the University of Wisconsin. At Wisconsin, he designed and directed the conditioning and strength programs for the Badgers varsity men's and women's basketball programs, men's football and track team. Hackett is a graduate of Wisconsin and holds a Bachelor's degree in Science.
He also served as the assistant track coach at Wisconsin for three years. As a student, he competed as a sprinter for the Badgers and was a three-time USA Olympic Trial Qualifier and an NCAA Champion in the 100 and 200 meters.
Robert and his wife Renee have two children, Amari and Kiara.
Hackett replaces Brett Brungardt who left the Mavericks for a similar position with the University of Washington basketball team.
