Mavs Complete Training Camp Roster with Four Additions
DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have signed four free agents to bring the total to 16 players which will comprise their training camp roster which starts today in Dallas.
The Mavericks signed guards Raja Bell and Adam Harrington, forward Derek Hood and center Kipp Christianson.
Bell (6-5, 205) has played the last two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 3.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in 74 contests (12.0 mpg)
for the 76ers.
Christianson (7-0, 270) played in the CBA last season for Sioux Falls where he averaged 5.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. A 1997 graduate of St.
John’s (Minn.), Christianson has also played in Europe and was on Milwaukee’s training camp roster in 1999.
Harrington (6-5, 200) was an early-entry candidate for the 2002 NBA Draft but was undrafted. He played at Auburn the last two seasons after spending
his freshman year at North Carolina State. Last year he averaged 10.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 28 games for Auburn.
Derek Hood (6-8, 222) played with Mobile of the NBDL last year and averaged 10.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He was a second team All-NBDL
performer in 2001-2002. A 1999 graduate of Arkansas, Hood has played in Europe, the ABA and the CBA besides playing two games with Charlotte in
1999-2000.
