Mavs guard Darren Collison will visit with the 6th-8th graders at Florence Middle School to tipoff the Mavs Academic All-Star program, which recognizes elementary and middle school students for their hard work and exceptional grades in the classroom.

Collison will speak to the kids about the importance of getting an education, having good attendance in school, reading at home and completing their homework.

To be a Mavs Academic All-Stars, teachers and counselors can nominate their students for excelling in school or making significant improvement from one grading period to the next. 30 winners from all applications received will win tickets to the Mavs vs. Denver game on April 12, 2013 where they will be recognized on court at halftime.
