On Saturday, July 23rd over 350 girls showed up at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel to tryout for the Dallas Mavericks Dancers. The day began at 8 a.m. with registration. For the first round of cuts, the girls were asked to show the judges their best freestyle moves. After those cuts were made and the group was cut in half, the second round began with the ladies still in the running learning part of a routine that they performed in front of the judges in groups of four.

At the end of the day, 25 girls were chosen to join the current dancers to participate in a training camp where they will learn an entire routine to perform in front of the judges who will then select the final squad for the 2005-06 season.
