Shawn Marion and Rolando Blackman visit Reading Challenge Winners

On Friday, Dec. 10, Shawn Marion and Rolando Blackman visited Edward Titche Elementary School in Dallas. Titche was the winning school of this year’s Mavs Reading Challenge program, which challenges 2nd-5th graders in the Metroplex to read as many minutes as possible during a two-month time span.

Blackman and Marion congratulated the kids on winning the challenge and reading over 800,000 minutes. They also spoke to the kids about the importance of listening to their teachers and paying attention in school to get a good education.

At the end of the pep rally, the students also had the chance to ask Shawn some questions.

All children in attendance received a Mavs Read to Achieve t-shirt.
