Mavs Host Annual Seats for Soldiers

On Saturday, December 13th, the Mavs hosted the 5th annual Seats for Soldiers where front row season ticket holders give up their seats to military personnel that have either been wounded in combat or have recently returned home from a year of active duty overseas.

Over 150 soldiers from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio attended and were treated to a private flight on American Airlines' Flagship Freedom, the yellow-ribbon 757 that was unveiled on Veterans’ Day in support of all who serve. Once they touched down in Dallas, the group boarded buses and had dinner at Abacus before arriving at American Airlines Center for that night's game vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As the soldiers entered the building, the Mavs staff, American Airlines flight attendants and pilots and fans gave them a standing ovation as they made their way down to their courtside seats. At the end of the first quarter break, the soldiers were again recognized for their service to their country.

In addition to the courtside seats, the Mavs donated 100 lower-level tickets to soldiers from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. Tinker Air Force Base currently has more than 7,000 active military personnel on base.

A special thanks to Mavs season ticket holders, American Airlines (including flight attendants and pilots), BP America, who donated the fuel for the charter flights, TM Advertising and Magna Global for their generosity and support of this program.
