Mavs Foundation Events

Tux & Tennies Gala
The annual Tux & Tennies Gala, benefiting the Dallas Mavericks Foundation, started in 2005 as a way to honor and raise money for organizations that are making a difference in the Dallas/Fort Worth community. Attire at the event is black tie and tennis shoes, and guests are encouraged and will be rewarded for decorating their shoes accordingly. Ideas and suggestions will be available at www.mavsfoundation.com closer to the event date.
Each year a limited number of tables are available for purchase at $12,500 each (approximately $10,000 of which is tax deductible). Included in the table purchase is dinner for eight with a Mavs celebrity and their guest (a drawing is held at the event to determine the celebrity at each table), a seated three-course meal, an open bar, and a commemorative gift for each person in attendance. Additionally, the night features an awards presentation for the seven organizations receiving funding that season, live music, a tennies contest, the opportunity to mix and mingle with Mavs players, live and silent auctions, casino games and much more!

Furniture for Kids
On Wednesday, October 22, 2008, OFS Brands and TUSA Office Solutions hosted the third annual Furniture 4 Kids auction and design competition, benefiting the Mavs Foundation. 28 teams of Dallas/Fort Worth's top architectural and design firms again created one of a kind children's table and chair sets that were auctioned off at the event.
Mavs Guard Jason Terry made a special appearance, and emceeing the event was Mavs Television Play-by-Play Announcer Mark Followill. Acting as celebrity judges this year were Mavs Director of Basketball Development Rolando Blackman, Jed Morse of the Nasher Sculpture Center, Laura McDonald Stewart of the American Society of Interior Designers, and Amie Keener of the International Interior Design Association. Also in attendance were the Mavs Dancers, Mavs ManiAACs, Champ, and the Mavs Street Team. The evening featured food, drinks, live music, a raffle, and a live and silent auction.
$20,000 was raised at this year’s event, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Mavs Foundation. A big thank you to OFS Brands, TUSA Office Solutions, and the architectural and interior design community for so generously supporting the Mavs Foundation.
