    JET's Coat Drive
With the holidays right around the corner, the Mavs, Dave & Buster’s and Jason Terry are asking fans to help blanket the Metroplex by making a donation to the first annual Jason Terry Coat Drive, benefiting Metroplex shelters.

The program will last for the entire month of November, giving Mavs fans a chance to help those in need. Donation bins will be set up at all three of the Metroplex Dave & Buster’s locations for fans to drop off any new or gently used coat. A Dave & Buster’s $10 Power Card will be given to anyone who makes a donation.

    JET & Gilda's Club
For the last three seasons, Mavs guard Jason Terry and a corporate sponsor have each donated $100 per three-point shot Terry makes during the regular season to Gilda’s Club North Texas. JET is pleased to be able to team up with Starkey Mortgage and participate in this program again this season. Last year, Terry completed a total of 164 three-point shots and donated a total of $32,800 to Gilda’s Club. Due to Jason and the corporate sponsors' generosity, over $77,000 has been donated to Gilda's Club North Texas.

    Holiday Party
Every December, the Mavs host a Holiday Party for youth in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Dirk & Jonathan's Place
For the last three seasons, Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki and Bob's Steak and Chop House have each donated $100 per three-point shot Nowitzki makes during the regular season to Jonathan's Place. Dirk and Bob's will again be contributing matching funds to this worthy organization. Last year Nowitzki completed a total of 72 three-point shots and donated a total of $14,400 to Jonathan's Place. Due to Dirk and Bob's generosity, over $54,000 the past three seasons has been donated to Jonathan's Place.

    About Jonathan's Place:
For more than a decade, Jonathan’s Place has been taking care of the Dallas area’s youngest victims of abuse. Jonathan’s Place is an emergency shelter providing specialized services and 24-hour residential care to Dallas area abused, abandoned, neglected and drug affected children. Jonathan’s Place is the only licensed emergency shelter in the Metroplex that provides residential services for children in crisis under the age of six. Annually, more than 400 children who have suffered unimaginable atrocities begin the process of recovery within the safety of two “home-style” cottages on a six-acre campus in Northeast Dallas County. Jonathan’s Place provides stability for young children during their time of crisis – one hug, one encouraging word, one day at a time.

    Nothing But Nets
This season the Mavs, along with ExxonMobil, will donate $100 for every blocked shot the Mavs make to Nothing But Nets, a global, grassroots campaign which purchases, distributes and educates people in Africa about the proper use of an insecticide-treated bed net which helps prevent malaria, a disease that infects nearly 500 million people each year and kills more than one million of those who become infected. The bed nets stop the mosquitoes from biting during the night and spreading the disease AND the insecticide on the net kills the mosquitoes when they land on it. Bed nets can prevent malaria transmission by 50%.

Click here to help the Mavs in their Nothing But Nets campaign! 100% of the donations go towards the purchase, distribution and education about the proper use of an insecticide-treated bed net.

    Reading & Learning Center
Each season the Dallas Mavericks create a reading & learning center for a local charity in conjunction with the club’s Read To Achieve program. This season the Jeffries Street Learning Center will be the beneficiary of the club's seventh Reading & Learning Center. The Jeffries Street Learning Center serves multi-generation families by providing educational enrichment programs for both parents and their children targeted to improve their social and economic status with the ultimate goal of breaking the cycle of poverty.

Previous seasons' centers were created at Boys & Girls Club of Arlington, Buckner/Vickery Wellness Center, Interfaith Housing Coalition, the West Dallas Boys & Girls Club, the Mesquite Boys & Girls Club and Bryan’s House.

Special thanks to Glidden and Office Expo for their support of these projects.

To be considered for a Mavs Reading & Learning Center, an organization must fill out a grant application. Deadline for applications are June 30th of each year. The Mavs Foundation's Board of Trustees meet every September to determine grant recipients.

    Sport Court
Each season the Dallas Mavericks create a new basketball court or refurbish an existing one for a local charity. This season the Oak Cliff YMCA was selected to have their old tennis court turned into a full-sized basketball court. The new outdoor court, worth an estimated $80,000, will allow the Oak Cliff YMCA to expand programming so that more than 500 at-risk youth and teens ages 10 to 17 throughout South Dallas and Oak Cliff will have a safe place to play. In addition, the court will give the center the ability to offer programs that enhance youth interaction and development so they will be more likely to make healthy choices and avoid a wide-range of high-risk behaviors.

This is the 14th Mavs court refurbishment completed in the Metroplex since the program began in 1998.

Special thanks to FSN Southwest and NexCourt for their support of this project.

To be considered for a Sport Court, an organization must fill out a grant application. Deadline for applications are June 30th of each year. The Mavs Foundation's Board of Trustees meet every September to determine grant recipients.

    Turkey Dunk
Every November, the Mavs host a party for underprivileged children. The entire Mavericks team put on a basketball clinic for the approximately 150 kids that attend each year. The kids have the chance to interact with the players and learn basic skills like rebounding, shooting, passing and other offensive and defensive skills.

After the clinic, the kids are served a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings. All children in attendance receive a t-shirt and Mavs goodie bag containing toys, toiletries and other fun items.
