(Please review all restrictions before completing grant applications. i.e. individuals, churches and schools are NOT eligible.)

The Dallas Mavericks possess a strong sense of social responsibility, acknowledging that a community is only as strong as its weakest link. Established in October 1996, the Dallas Mavericks Foundation is dedicated to inspiring and motivating youth to take their education seriously, strive for healthy bodies and minds, become involved in community service activities, set personal goals, visualize their dreams and take responsibility for their own lives and neighborhoods.

It is a 501(c)(3) private charity, and although it is affiliated with the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team, is incorporated as a separate business entity.

It is the intention of the Dallas Mavericks Foundation to do what it can as a grant-making organization to help the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex be a nurturing environment within which human beings thrive. Because of the high-profile nature of the sport of basketball and its athletes, we have the opportunity to assist local youth projects and programs in increasing the opportunities for our youth to live healthy, fulfilling lives. With a solid foundation, our youth can then go on to make significant contributions to society.

The Dallas Mavericks Foundation supports the programs and organizations in the Metroplex which address the community's most pressing problems involving youth, specifically education, good health, and community service activity. Proposals will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees and recommendations will be made to the Dallas Mavericks team owner, with whom final decisions lie. There is one grant cycle annually.

Regrettably, the Dallas Mavericks Foundation receives many more requests for support than it can possibly fund, and some requests are therefore declined even though they may meet Foundation requirements. All applicants will receive a response to their grant request by the end of September.

Restrictions:

*Grants will not be made to individuals, churches, public/private schools or national organizations that do not have locally, financially independent chapters.

*Grants will not be made for medical research, travel, salaries, operational phases of established programs, political campaigns or fundraising events, including the purchase of tables, tickets or advertisements.

*The Dallas Mavericks Foundation does not commit funds for continued support of long-term programs lasting more than one year, endowment campaigns, administrative costs, advertising/fundraising drives, salaries for staff/individuals, intermediary funding agencies and/or research.

*The Foundation does not fund multi-year grants.

*If an organization is awarded grants for two consecutive years, that organization will be ineligible for an award for one year.

Make A Move, Make A Difference

The Dallas Mavericks and Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. have announced a partnership that will make the company the club’s official real estate provider and the realtor of choice for all Dallas Mavericks employees – including players, coaches, and front office personnel.

To coincide with the new partnership, Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. and the Dallas Mavericks have launched a “Make a Move, Make a Difference” donation program, which will allow individuals interested in buying or selling a home to make a contribution to the Dallas Mavericks Foundation. To participate in this program, interested individuals must register their name with Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. and be assigned to a Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. agent prior to buying or selling a home. After the transaction is complete, Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. will make a donation to the Dallas Mavericks Foundation on behalf of the buyer or seller. Each donation will be made based on a tiered home purchase or sale price.

“We are honored to be the official real estate company of the Dallas Mavericks” said Mike Bowman, President of Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. “Together, this partnership will increase the contributions to the Dallas Mavericks Foundation, which helps to improve the lives of countless children in North Texas.”

Interested parties can enroll in the “Make a Move, Make a Difference” program by calling 1-800-848-2384 or by registering online at www.mavsfoundation.com or www.c21bowman.com.
