Mavs TV/Radio Announcers

For the sixth season, Mavericks fans can watch the team in Dallas on KTXA television (TXA-21) or FSN Southwest (with the exceptions of TNT & ABC exclusives). The TXA-21 broadcast includes a full one hour pre-game featuring Gina Miller & Derek Harpe. The FSN Southwest broadcasts include the half-hour “Mavericks Live” pre-game show with Dana Larson. Calling all the action on both TXA-21 and FSN Southwest telecasts are Mark Followill and Brad Davis. Followill is in his third year doing play-by-play for the TV broadcast after spending five years as the play-by-play voice for the Mavericks on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM.
Brad Davis joins Followill after eleven seasons as the radio broadcast color analyst. Davis, who over the last 27 years has served the Mavericks as a player, coach and community services/camps representative, is in first full season as the club’s TV color analyst.

MAVERICKS RADIO
The Mavericks home on radio in the Metroplex is ESPN 103.3 FM (KESN). ESPN will broadcast all preseason, regular season, and playoff games. All pre-season, regular season, and playoff games will also be broadcast in Spanish on KFLC-1270 AM.

This season, Chuck Cooperstein, enters his third season as the play-by-play voice of the team on ESPN 103.3 FM. Cooperstein has been a regular on the Dallas/Fort Worth sports scene since 1984 and has been an anchor on ESPN 103.3 FM since the station’s inception in 2001. During the last two years, he hosted the Mavericks Insider and Mavs Talk.
Victor Villalba (with an occasional appearance from Raul Saenz) provides play-by-play for the Spanish radio broadcast on KFLC -1270 AM.


Mark Followill: Television Play-by-Play
Mark Followill

Mark Followill enters his sixth season as the television play-by-play voice and his tenth overall with the team. Prior to his move to television, Followill served as the radio play-by-play voice of the Mavericks onESPN 103.3 FM for four seasons.

Followill has also been a play-by-play announcer for NFL games on the Sports USA Radio Network, college basketball on the Mountain West Sports Network, regional college football broadcasts on FSN Southwest and TXA21, and NBA and WNBA broadcasts for ESPNRadio.

Followill came to the Mavericks after having worked for seven years at KTCK in Dallas where he co-hosted a nightly talk show, served as sports anchor for the afternoon drivetime’s show The Hardline and hosted the Dallas Cowboys pre- and post-game shows from 1995 to 2000. Followill also served as the play-by-play voice for SMU football in 1999 and 2000 on KTCK.

Prior to working at KTCK, Followill worked at the Texas State News Network, KTOK in Oklahoma City and KDNT in Denton, Texas.

Followill attended North Texas from 1989 to 1992 where he worked at the campus radio station, KNTU.

Along with Brad Davis, Followill won awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters for the state’s best play-by-play broadcast in 2004 and 2005 and received a Katie Award from the Press Club of Dallas in 2002 for Best Play-by-Play Sportscast.


Chuck Cooperstein: Radio Play-by-Play

Chuck Cooperstein is in his sixth season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Mavericks on ESPN 103.3 FM. Cooperstein has been a regular on the Dallas/Fort Worth sports scene since 1984 and has been an anchor on ESPN 103.3 FM since the station’s inception in 2001. He also co-hosts the “Coop and Nate” show with former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl guard Nate Newton weekday afternoons.

Cooperstein’s extensive sports broadcasting background includes play-by-play stints with TCU and the University of Texas football, as well as TCU, Texas A&M and SMU basketball.

He has broadcast CBS Westwood One NCAA basketball games since 1991 and CBS/Westwood One college football games since 1995, while serving as the host of Westwood One’s NCAA Football Insider.

He has also hosted the Dallas Cowboys pregame shows. In addition, he has received a Katie Award for his play-by-play expertise from the Dallas Press Club.

The New York City native has a bachelor of science in broadcasting from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Karen, were married in August 2010. They have one son, Jeffrey, who is 14 years old.



Brad Davis: Player Development/TV Analyst

Brad Davis, who over the last 27 years has served the Mavericks as a player, coach and community services/camps representative, is in first season as the club’s TV color analyst. Brad Davis is in his eighth full season with the Mavericks in the player development area. This marks his second term as a coach with the team. Davis spent eight seasons as the club’s color analyst on ESPN 103.3 FM.

In 1993-94, Davis did analysis on Mavericks road television games and served as radio analyst on home games. He also contributed radio analysis on home broadcasts for the first part of the 1992-93 season before spending the final 48 games of that season as an assistant coach to Mavericks interim Head Coach Gar Heard.

From 1993-95, Davis was a Mavericks assistant coach on Dick Motta’s coaching staff. In 1992, Davis retired as one of only 15 players in NBA history to play 15 NBA seasons. He is the Mavericks all-time leader in games played at 883. On Nov. 14, 1992, Davis became the first Maverick to have his jersey retired when his No. 15 was raised to the rafters. Davis was the final member of the Mavericks 1980-81 charter season team to retire. He lasted eight years longer with Dallas than any other member of that squad. Davis won five straight Favorite Maverick Awards from 1982-86. For his NBA career, Davis averaged 8.2 ppg on 51.0% shooting in 961 games. As a Maverick, Davis averaged 8.6 ppg on 51.0% shooting with 5.1 assists in 883 games. He began his career as a Lakers first-round draft pick (15th overall) out of Maryland in 1977. During the off season, Davis continues his love of coaching by working with promising college and high school athletes to prepare them for the NBA.


Victor Villalba: Spanish Radio

Victor Villalba is the Spanish play-by-play host for the Dallas Mavericks. He came on in 2005, just in time to enjoy the ride all the way to the NBA Finals. A resident of Coppell, Texas, the Villalba’s include wife Olga, and daughters Katia Michelle and Kristina Marie.
