Who Will Be Most Improved Magic Players in 2014-15?

Cohen 8-Ball: Comparing Last Season to this Upcoming One, Who Will Make Biggest Strides?

OrlandoMagic.com’s Josh Cohen offers his rankings on a range of topics on the Magic and the rest of the NBA.

#5 Ben Gordon

Keep in mind; this feature is only taking last season’s production into account. Therefore, we are not evaluating Gordon’s entire career – in which he twice averaged over 20 points per game. Gordon was practically indiscernible last season in Charlotte and averaged career lows in points (5.2), assists (1.1), rebounds (1.4) and minutes (14.7 in 19 games). He also shot a career-worst 28 percent from 3-point range (for his career he is at 40 percent from downtown).

Gordon is a low-risk, high-reward candidate with the Magic this upcoming season. He is a gym rat and sources have noted that he is spending a ton of time this summer trying to restore his reputation as an elite scorer and reenergize his effectiveness.
