After three weeks of voting online and one night of in-game texting, Magic fans have spoken and have determined Brett DioGuardi is the BOLDest and BLUEst Fan for the 2007-08 season. In a competition sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, fans logged on to www.orlandomagic.com for the past three weeks to see photos and brief bios of each contender and with thousands of votes cast, DioGuardi has been crowned the ultimate Magic fan.
In the final match up between Jared McCain and DioGuardi the votes were close, but DioGuardi came in with 69 percent of the votes from the in-game texting poll. Fans were asked to vote for either McCain or DioGuardi during the San Antonio game as the two contestants helped out the Jet Blue Crew by pumping up the crowd throughout the first three quarters.
The winner was announced during the third quarter as fans cheered for the bold spirit of the two boys. DioGuardi is the first ever BOLDest and BLUEst fan in Orlando Magic history.
DioGuardi will receive season tickets to the O-Zone for the 2008-09 season and the title of “BOLDest and BLUEst Fan” for the 2007-08 season. Runner-up, Jared McCain will receive an Orlando Magic prize pack.
