Each year Orlando Magic fans from Central Florida and around the United States come to this landmark event for one reason and one reason only: the kids. For the third year in a row, the 19th annual Orlando Magic Youth Fund Black Tie and Tennies Charity Gala presented by M&I Bank was held at the JW Marriott-Grande Lakes. It was sophisticated, chic and filled with exciting games and over 100 auction prizes to raise money for the OMYF, a fund of the McCormick Foundation. This year’s gala featured a karaoke stage with a live back up band, casino tables, jazz lounge, and an exclusive display of live and silent auction items. As told by Alex Martins, Chief Operating Officer, the 2009 OMYF Gala was one of the most successful in the history of the event!
The Orlando Magic would like to thank all of the dedicated Magic staff, gala event staff and volunteers who made this event possible. With the ultimate goal of benefiting the youth of our community, each person involved remained focused on the task at hand and because of their time and dedication this year’s gala was a huge success. The Orlando Magic would like to thank every guest, for every contribution they made. Along with a 50 percent match from The McCormick Foundation, this year’s event raised over $325,000. The OMYF, a fund of the McCormick Foundation, focuses on helping every child in Central Florida realize his or her full potential, especially those most at risk, by supporting programs and partnerships that empower families and change lives. Your generous contributions will be matched by the McCormick Foundation and distributed to local non-profit organizations.
