Added veteran point guard Jameer Nelson: ``I think he’s so competitive that when he has some downs that he’s going to continue to fight and continue to do good. That’s one thing that you could see inside of him right away. I try to help him out as much as I can and stay in his ear about certain things. But he’s in a great situation where he’s going to be able to figure out some things by himself.’’

Playing mostly off the ball on Friday after spending large chunks of time at point guard this preseason, Oladipo got himself into the flow by continuing to attack off the dribble. Oladipo set up defenders by hitting two 3-pointers and then when they attempted to close out on him he drove hard into the lane. That resulted in eight free throw attempts, all makes for Oladipo.

``I was just on the attack and able to get to the line and make my free throws,’’ said Oladipo, who has shot 78.3 percent from the free throw line and 45.3 percent from the floor this preseason. ``I just have to do a good job of picking spots on when to be aggressive.’’
