Orlando, FL -- The Orlando Magic have named James Borrego, Wes Unseld Jr. and Brett Gunning as assistant coaches, General Manager Rob Hennigan and Head Coach Jacque Vaughn announced today. In addition, Laron Profit and Luke Stuckey have been named assistant coaches/player development, while Gordon Chiesa has been named special consultant to the head coach. Per team policy, terms of the deals are not disclosed.

ORLANDO -- Shooting guard E’Twaun Moore, whose finest game in the NBA came last January in Orlando, has signed a contract to play for the Magic.

Moore put on a shooting show last January in Boston’s come-from-behind defeat of the Magic as he made five of six shots and all four of his 3-point shots. Of Moore’s career-best 16 points that night, 14 came in the second half as the Celtics wiped out a 27-point deficit and won 91-83.

Orlando, FL -- The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard E’Twaun Moore, General Manager Rob Hennigan announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Moore (6’4”, 191, 2/25/89) played in 38 games during his rookie campaign last season with Boston, averaging 2.9 ppg. in 8.7 minpg. He scored a career-high 16 points, including four three-pointers on Jan. 26 @ Orlando. Moore also appeared in nine playoff outings.

ORLANDO -- While generally inexperienced and unproven, the “new” Orlando Magic are eager to prove detractors wrong.

The remaining members from last year’s team, including Jameer Nelson, J.J. Redick and Glen Davis, want to substantiate their value with Dwight Howard no longer running the show.

ORLANDO -- The Orlando Magic are on a quest. They want to make sure as many children as possible can read fluently by the time they enter the third grade.

In effect, the Magic are helping fund the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools’ Read2Succeed program, which served nearly 200 second graders last school year. The program is simple yet effective.

ORLANDO -- The Boys Town of Central Florida’s Intervention and Assessment Shelters and Family Treatment Homes assisted dozens of runaway and abandoned kids last year and have helped hundreds through the years. Thanks to a grant by the Orlando Magic, they will be able to continue offering some much-needed services to at-risk teens throughout Central Florida.
