By Josh Cohen November 20, 2012 ORLANDO -- You can be assured that more than 200 families in the Rosemont district of Orlando will enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast.

Thanks to J.J. Redick and his wife Chelsea, there will be many dinner tables on Thursday complete with all the holiday favorites.

In addition to the Redicks, Magic Dancers and Orlando Magic staff handed out whole turkeys, stuffing mix, canned vegetables, gravy and a mouth-watering pumpkin pie dessert to families in need at the Rosemont Community Center on Tuesday.

It’s the second time Redick has helped individuals and families from this specific community during the holiday season and it’s evident based on all the smiles that came through that it never gets old.

“The Orlando community has been so great to Chelsea and I,” Redick said. “We cherish this opportunity to give back.”

Redick’s assistance on Tuesday is one of many events the Magic and their players have contributed to and will continue to contribute to throughout this holiday season.

Last week at College Park’s Truffles and Triffles, Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, Ish Smith and Nikola Vucevic enjoyed an evening of cooking instruction and food and wine pairings with about 40 season ticket holders.

On Thursday, Magic CEO Alex Martins, General Manager Rob Hennigan, Head Coach Jacque Vaughn and players Nelson, Glen Davis and Maurice Harkless will help serve its annual Thanksgiving breakfast to men, women and children at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

“There are so many emotions around the holidays and for us providing a meal, smiles and a overall feeling of warmth is most important,” Redick said.

“I’m a grateful person for the blessings I have in my life and I know there’s a responsibility in turn to give back those blessings to other people and express love,” he added. “If anything, I’m thanking them for letting me do this.”

Redick has spent a great deal of time over the years giving back to the community. His foundation was established in 2011 to benefit underprivileged youth and inspire children to achieve their goals.
