Orlando Magic Names Marriott Vacation Club as Presenting Partner for 2013-14 Silver Season
“We are honored to have Marriott Vacation Club join us as the presenting partner of our much anticipated Silver Season,” said Orlando Magic Chief Executive Officer Alex Martins. “For 25 years the Magic has represented excellence and we are proud to partner with an outstanding brand like Marriott Vacation Club to celebrate this momentous season.”
As the recognized leader in vacation ownership and to promote its rental and ownership programs, Marriott Vacation Club will receive branding in key aspects of the Magic’s marketing and communications surrounding the season, including on the Orlando Magic’s website, in print and on broadcast productions, and with signage at Amway Center.
“We’re thrilled to be the Magic’s Silver Season presenting partner and proud to continue our long-standing relationship with this great team,” said Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen P. Weisz. “For nearly 30 years we’ve been providing exceptional vacation experiences to our owners and guests at our resorts around the world and especially right here in our hometown of Orlando. We look forward to a fantastic season and partnership.”
The Magic will unveil a new campaign for fans and the community later this summer to celebrate its “Silver Season.” The campaign will celebrate with the Orlando community the Magic’s success and rich history of legendary moments, players, people and fans while building on an exciting future.
The 25 years of Magic basketball have seen great success for a relatively young franchise including five division championships (1995, 1996, 2008, 2009, 2010), seven 50-plus win seasons and Eastern Conference titles in 1995 and 2009.
In addition to its on-the-court success, the team gives more than $2 million to the local community by way of sponsorships of events, donated tickets, autographed merchandise, scholarships and grants; including more than $18 million distributed to local nonprofit community organizations via the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation and the Orlando Magic Youth Fund (OMYF-MFF), a McCormick Foundation Fund since 1994. Orlando Magic community relations programs annually impact an estimated 100,000 kids each year, while the OMYF-MFF has positively impacted more than 1 million children. The Magic Volunteer Program (MVP), an organizational staff-wide initiative, provides more than 6,000 community volunteer hours per year.
