Magic Partner With McDonald’s For Fry Throws Promotion

ORLANDO -- – Magic fans will be able to enjoy the most famous french fries in the world for free with the help of the Orlando Magic during the 2013-14 NBA season with the McDonald’s Fry Throws Promotion. This unique, mobile-based gift card program is open to any fan when a Magic opponent misses five free throws in a home game. The first 10,000 fans to text “fries” to 313131 will receive a mobile gift card for a free order of large french fries the next day at any area participaing McDonald’s.

The mobile gift card feature, being implemented for the first time at Amway Center, differentiates the Fry Throws promotion from other game ticket-based incentives and provides the opoprtunity to target tech-savy millenials and capture back-end redemption analytics. The Orlando Magic, in partnership with McDonald’s, is one of a few NBA teams across the league implementing this technology.

The McDonald’s Fry Throws promotion transends to fans tuning in at home, who will also have an opportunity to participate.

As part of their partnership, McDonald’s will also have a presence at Fan Fest before games, on OrlandoMagic.com and on radio broadcasts.
