Hedo Turkoglu hit a shot with less than a second left as the Orlando Magic squeaked out an 88-87 victory against the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday night. Turkoglu finished the game tied with Jameer Nelson with 18 points, while Grant Hill scored 12 and Carlos Arroyo added 10 from the bench. The Magic improve to 3-2 on the season and now embark on a three-game road trip to Indiana, Minnesota and Boston.

The Magic began the game on a 13-0 run that quickly evaporated and led by only three at the end of the first quarter. Turnovers soured the night for Orlando as 27 of them allowed Seattle to stay in the game. The Sonics relied on strong performances by Ray Allen (21 points) and Rashard Lewis (16 points) to keep them in the game and built a 12 point lead in the third quarter befor the Magic rallied to end the third period tied at 67.

Though they led by as many as nine in the final period, the Magic were unable to put the game away as the Sonics crept back in the closing minutes. After Lewis rebounded his own miss and put it back in to give Seattle a one point lead with 5.3 seconds left, Turkoglu came through in the clutch for Orlando - hitting the game winner from the corner.

9:27PM: Seattle has the ball and will take the clock down for one final shot. Ridnour has the ball at the top of the key. He alley-oops to Lewis, who misses but gets his own rebound and puts it back in with 5.3 left. The Magic will have one last shot. Hill inbounds to Nelson, but the Sonics have a foul to give and use it. The Magic will inbound again. Hill takes it out with 3.5 left. The Magic get the ball in play and it goes to Hedo, who NAILS THE SHOT FROM THE CORNER as time expires. However, the officials want to take another look to make sure he got the shot off before time expired. After further review...THE SHOT STANDS! MAGIC WIN! Orlando moves to 4-2 on the season with a 88-87 buzzer beat against Seattle.

9:22PM: Lewis goes baseline and misses and the Magic get the ball. But Orlando isn't able to get anything done and Grant Hill forces a shot from the corner with the shot clock expiring. The ball doesn't hit the rim and Seattle takes over possession with 23.3 left on the clock - training 86-85.

9:20PM: Chris Wilcox makes one off the glass and Jameer with a bad miss at the other end. Magic lead is four. Ray Allen gets open down the floor and hits a three and the lead shrinks to one, 86-85. Nelson is called for the offensive foul as he drives the lane and Seattle will have a chance to retake the lead with 1:06 remaining.

9:18PM: Rashard Lewis is left wide up for a three, cutting the Magic lead to only six, 86-80 with 2:16 left.

9:15PM: Arroyo fakes the jumpshot and dishes to Howard for a two off the glass. Milicic comes up with the rebound on the other end with 3:49 left in the game. Hedo makes it a nine point lead with a layup at the 3:10 mark. Magic 86, Sonics 77.

9:12PM: Ray Allen scores a quick two, but travels on the next possession to keep the Magic lead at eight. But a sloppy pass by Turkoglu fives Ridnour a fastbreak and an easy layup. The Magic lead is cut to five, 82-77.

9:08PM: The Seattle drought ends as Wilcox puts back a Ray Allen miss. However, Hedo is good for another three and the Magic lead is now at nine, 82-73 with 5:42 left in the game.

9:05PM: A pair free throws from Dooling followed by an outside jumper from Milicic gives Orlando a 77-71 lead. A Magic fastbreak ends with Arroyo being fouled and heading for the line. He hits both from the charity stripe and the lead is now eight, 79-71.

8:58PM: Arroyo cool at the line, hitting both free throws and giving Orlando a two point lead, 71-69.

8:56PM: Fourth quarter underway and Darko's not having a good night. No. 31 has only played seven minutes because of foul trouble. He checks into the game and quickly picks up his fourth foul. He's got zero points and only two rebounds.

8:47PM: Grant Hill hits a shot to make it a one point game, 65-64. Hill now has 12 points. After getting fouled, Hill goes to the line but misses his first free throw and doesn't fair any better on his second as the Magic fair in their effort to take to lead. Things don't improve much on the next possession as Nelson's shot rims in and then right back out. On the other end of the floor, Earl Watson's running layup puts Seattle's lead back to three. But not for long as Keith Bogans hits a three to tie the game with 31.8 left in the quarter. An offensive foul on Danny Fortson gives Orlando the ball with 10.1 left in the quarter. One last attempt and Jameer's three doesn't connect. At the end of three, the Magic and Sonics are tied at 67.

8:41PM: A Jameer steal brings the Magic within eight, 63-55. Bogans checks into the game and gets a layup off an inbounds play. Seattle can't connect on its next trip and Grant Hill cans a bank shot to bring Orlando within four, 63-59. However, Collison gets an open look at the lane by Orlando's defense and scores an easy two. Jameer Nelson then sinks a three pointer and the Magic are within three, 65-62.

8:40PM: Big dunk from Dwight will hopefully fire up this Magic squad that still trails by 10, 61-51.

8:38PM: Another three for Ray Allen and the Sonics lead has grown to 12 points, 59-47.

8:35PM: With Ray Allen and Luke Ridnour in the backcourt, you would think that Seattle's outside game would be causing the Magic grief. However, it's the inside presence that's stirring up trouble tonight. Seattle has outscored Orlando 28-16 in the paint and hold the rebounding edge at 24-21. With 7:37 in the third, the Sonics lead - 54-47.

8:32PM: Second half underway and Seattle holding onto its five point lead, 52-47. Jameer connected on a three to open the quarter and has also hit a layup.

8:10PM: Hedo goes to the free throw line and converts 1-of-2, but Allen again sticks it to the home team with a three pointer and the Sonics go into halftime with a 47-42 lead.

8:07PM: Pat Garrity misses a running jumper, but gets his own rebound and lays in back in to make it a one point game. However, the Magic can't convert on its next possession and Ray Allen hits another shot to bring the Seattle lead back to three.

8:01PM: Dwight and Jameer check back in for the Magic and a moment later, Turkoglu is back in the game as well. Hedo hits a jumper, but Ray Allen's layup keeps Seattle up by five. Keyon Dooling then goes baseline with a reverse layup and Seattle turns the ball over with a shot-clock violation. With 2:23 left in the first half, the Sonics hold a 42-39 lead.

8:00PM: A monster alley-oop to Rashard Lewis ties the game at 35 apiece. Ridnour sinks a three to give the Sonics a three point lead (38-35).

7:57PM: After Dooling hit 1-of-2 free throws, Grant Hill nails a jumper to make it a one point game. After Seattle's Petro is called for an offensive foul, the Magic regain the lead as Hill drives to the lane, but then kicks out to Arroyo for a three. Magic 25, Sonics 33.

7:53PM: Seattle has kicked it up a notch and now lead, 33-29. Damien Wilkins fastbreak dunk just gave the Sonics its biggest lead of the game. There's 7:22 left in the first half.

7:48PM: Collison playing well for the Sonics. He just hit another shot while drawing the foul to give Seattle its first lead of the game, 28-27. Collison has quickly picked upu five points, three rebounds, an assist and a block.

7:44PM: Second quarter underway with Magic holding a three point lead. Arroyo hits a free throw after Seattle was called for defensive three seconds, but Ray Allen hits his first three and the Sonics close within one. The Magic counter with a Battie dunk (Arroyo assist) before Johan Petro's make keeps it a one point game, 27-26.

7:39PM: Damien Wilkins and Nick Collison have both scored baskets while drawing a foul and Seattle has pulled with three, 24-21 with 17.3 left in the quarter. Last possession for the Magic...Arroyo has his shot blocked by Collison. End of first - Magic 24, Sonics 21.

7:36PM: Seattle inching back into the game and Orlando now has Carlos Arroyo, Keyon Dooling and Darko Milicic in the game. If these three play like they did on Monday against Washington, we should see a second wind from the Magic soon.

7:34PM: A little late, but better than never...The Inactives for tonight's games are Trevor Ariza, J.J. Redick and James Augustine. We've received a few emails later regarding why J.J. hasn't seen any playing time yet. If you are one of those inquiring minds that wants to know, take a look at what my good friend Glass Half Full has to say.

7:28PM: Great ball movement down the floor. Howard rebounds and throws down the court to Nelson who quickly hits Hill and Grant finishes the fastbreak with a dunk. Seattle's Ray Allen cans a pair of free throws and the Magic lead is now 21-11.

7:27PM: Magic still shooting well so far (7-of-10 from the field) and they maintain a 17-9 lead. Each starter has scored so far with Jameer leading the way with 6 points.

7:18PM: Seattle looking a bit sluggish after the game in Miami last night. Perhaps they left all their effort in South Beach. Rashard Lewis finally gets Seattle on the board at the 8:35 Magic and the Magic now lead 13-2.

7:15PM: Magic off to a good start. Following up Dwight's opening dunk, Battie and Nelson have both canned jumpers and Seattle calls a timeout as the Magic lead, 7-0.

7:12PM: Starting lineups...for Seattle - Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Luke Ridnour, Chris Wilcox and Johan Petro. Same starting five for the Magic - Hedo Turkoglu, Dwight Howard, Tony Battie, Jameer Nelson and Grant Hill. Tip-off time...Howard in the middle with Petro and the ball goes to the Magic. First Orlando possession, Hill feeds Howard inside for the dunk. Dwight's about due for a breakout offensive game - similar to the season opener and Seattle's the type of team he could have it against.

7:05PM: Greetings once again Magic fans and welcome to tonight's game....

The Orlando Magic put an end to its two-game losing streak on Monday and now seek to take the streak in the opposite direction when they host the Seattle SuperSonics tonight.

After a close loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and a poor performance in Atlanta, the Magic put together a solid effort in Monday's 105-103 victory against the Washington Wizards. Despite two early losses in this young NBA season, Orlando's two victories have come against teams who are expected to play in the postseason come mid-April - Chicago and Washington.

Over the course of the last two games, nobody has had a bigger impact than Carlos Arroyo. Against Atlanta on Sunday, he went a perfect 9-for-9 from the field, tying a Magic record for most field goals made during a game without a miss. He then followed that up with a team-high 23 points against the Wizards - giving him a 22.5 ppg (18-22 FG) average in the past two games, while committing just two turnovers.

Seattle comes to Orlando tonight on the second leg of a five-game East Coast road trip, which started last night in Miami. The Sonics led the Heat late into the game before a James Posey three pointer helped Miami get back into the game and eventually win, 90-87.

Once again, Seattle will rely on the inside presense of Rashard Lewis and outside game of Ray Allen to provide the scoring punch. Point guard Luke Ridnour also appears to have elevated his game, averaging 18 plus through the team's first three contests. Ridnour only had three points last night in Miami.

LAST GAME:
Nov. 6 vs. Washington – Magic 106, Wizards 103: Carlos Arroyo came off the bench and led the Magic with 23 points, as Orlando edged Washington, 106-103, at TD Waterhouse Centre. Arroyo was 9-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. Hedo Turkoglu netted 18 points for Orlando, including 14 during the first quarter, while Dwight Howard recorded 14 rebounds and five blocked shots. Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Etan Thomas recorded 14 points, a game-high 15 rebounds and a career-high six blocked shots. Orlando shot 50.6 percent from the floor and was 9-of-18 from three-point land. Trailing 99-96, Arroyo nailed a three-pointer from the left wing to tie the game at 99 with 4:11 left. The three-pointer started a 9-0 Magic run, capped off by another Arroyo jumper with 2:19 remaining, giving the Magic a six-point lead. Washington had a chance to tie on the final possession, but a three-point attempt by Gilbert Arenas was off the mark.

RECENT GAMES:
Nov. 5 @ Atlanta – Hawks 95, Magic 82: Joe Johnson scored a game-high 31 points, as Atlanta defeated Orlando, 95-82, at Philips Arena. Zaza Pachulia had 17 points for the Hawks, while Josh Smith tallied 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. Carlos Arroyo led the Magic with 22 points and went a perfect 9-of-9 from the floor. Orlando committed 22 turnovers and tied a franchise-low with just eight assists. Atlanta led 22-11 after the first quarter and 46-35 at halftime. The Magic opened the second half with a 15-4 run and tied the game at 50 after a short jumper by Hedo Turkoglu midway through the third quarter. However, they could not get over the hump and never claimed the lead. Johnson scored the Hawks’ next seven points and helped Atlanta record the victory.

Nov. 3 vs. Philadelphia – Sixers 105, Magic 103: Allen Iverson poured in a game-high 39 points, including the game-winner with 2.2 seconds left, as Philadelphia edged Orlando, 105-103, at a sold-out TD Waterhouse Centre. Kyle Korver came off the bench and netted 28 points, including 4-of-4 from three-point range. Andre Iguodala and Chris Webber added 11 for the Sixers. Grant Hill paced six Magic players in double figures with 25 points. Both teams shot extremely well from the floor. Philadelphia shot 56.3 percent, while Orlando connected on 53.4 percent of its chances from the field. However, the Magic committed 23 turnovers. After Hill tied the game with a bank shot with 12.2 second left, Iverson saved the best for last. His running banker with 2.2 seconds remaining found the bottom of the net and gave the Sixers a two-point edge. Hill’s attempt at the buzzer fell short and Philadelphia escaped with the win.
