Fan Activities Announced for 2009 Playoffs

2009 Orlando Magic Playoffs presented by Bright House Networks

Orlando, FL – It’s time for Magic fans and the community to jump into the excitement as Blue & White Ignite for the 2009 NBA Playoffs. The Magic encourage their fans to show their spirit and wear Blue and White to Ignite the team in the 2009 NBA Playoffs. Some highlights of the fan activities surrounding the 2009 Orlando Magic Playoffs, presented by Bright House Networks, will include:

  • For Game One in the First Round, 9,000 blue and 9,000 white “Blue & White Ignite” T-shirts presented by Bright House Networks will be given away, along with 18,000 rally rackets.

  • For Game Two of the First Round, 18,000 rally towels courtesy of Harris Corporation will be given away.

  • A new opening introduction video for the playoff games.

  • A new and improved Fan Fest will take place on the north side of Amway Arena for all home playoff games. The Fan Fest will feature the Legend’s Lounge presented by Bright House Networks for autographs with Bo Outlaw and Nick Anderson. The Fan Fest will open two hours prior to tip-off and will also feature a Bud Light Port-a-Party and a playoff merchandise trailer. This will be a huge fan zone with a tailgate atmosphere that will give fans a reason to arrive early for the festivities. For Game One of the First Round, Pepsi will be on-site sampling Pepsi Max as well as promoting recycling. The first 200 fans to bring a 20 oz. empty Pepsi product plastic bottle will receive two tickets to Game One courtesy of Pepsi.

  • Playoff Watch Parties for all away games are presented by T-Mobile. In partnership with Budweiser and WJRR, the preliminary Playoff Watch Party Locations are as follows:

    Road Game One: The Clubhouse – Downtown Orlando

    Road Game Two: Smokey Bones – 3400 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL, 32803

    ** The Orlando Magic Watch Party presented by T-Mobile for road Game Two will feature the T-Mobile My Faves Arena with the NBA Playoffs 2009 Celebration. The T-Mobile My Faves Arena includes interactive games on an outdoor basketball court, bleachers and a screen for viewing the game!

    Road Game Three: Gators Dockside (8969 W Colonial Dr, Ocoee, FL)

    Road Game Four: Firkin & Kegler – UCF location

  • Each time Dwight Howard scores a double-double during any home playoff game, fans can bring their ticket stub to McDonalds and receive a free Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese. McDonalds will hole-punch each ticket to verify redemption while allowing fans to keep the ticket as a keepsake.

    Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will kick-off Magic Fan Fridays in front of City Hall on Friday, April 17 at 8:15 a.m., where he will announce that Friday, April 17 is proclaimed Blue & White Ignite Day. Every Friday throughout the Playoffs, Wall Street Plaza will host a Magic Fan Friday Pep Rally from 5 – 7 p.m. Anyone who arrives between 5 – 7 p.m. wearing Orlando Magic gear will receive their first drink free! (21 and up only). There will also be half off appetizers at Wall Street Plaza from 4 -7 p.m. There is no cover charge and all ages are encouraged to attend; free drink is for 21 and up only. The Magic Fan Friday Pep Rally on April 17 will include appearances by the Magic Dancers, Magic JetBlue Crew, STUFF the Magic Mascot, Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw, Orlando Magic in-arena emcee Scotty B, a live band and more. Appearance schedule during all other Magic Fan Friday Pep Rallies are TBD based on the Magic Playoff Schedule. Playoff Pep Rallies are scheduled for Friday, April 17 from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. at six different Central Florida locations (Orlando City Hall; Walgreens at 7650 W. Sand Lake Rd.; Walgreens at 12279 Lake Underhill; Walgreens at 550 S. Orlando Ave.; Walgreens at 6651 Old Winter Garden Rd; Walgreens at 11600 S. Orange Blossom Tr.). At each location, Magic front office employees will be handing out Mardi Gras beads, key chains, Dunkin Donuts and other giveaways to get ready for the playoffs. The City Hall location will include appearances by City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orlando Magic Community Ambassadors Bo Outlaw and Nick Anderson, Magic Dancers and STUFF as well as a press conference with Mayor Dyer proclaiming April 17 as Blue & White Ignite Day!

    Single game tickets for the first round of the 2009 Orlando Magic playoffs, presented by Bright House Networks, are on sale now to the general public. Orlando’s playoff schedule will be announced following the conclusion of the regular season.

    Ticket pricing for the first round of the 2009 Playoffs, presented by Bright House Networks, remains the same as regular season gate tickets. Highlights include: 3,263 seats priced $27 or under per game; a $40 lower bowl ticket; and tickets priced at $10 per game for the first round.
