  • The Orlando Magic has a long tradition of being a part of the fabric of the Central Florida community. A recent study by CSL International (Convention Sports & Leisure) concluded that the Magic's economic impact is estimated at $1.3 billion since the team's inception in 1989.

  • Magic owner Rich DeVos recently gave $1 million to the United Way, while also presenting a $2.5 million gift to enable the University of Central Florida to launch a graduate program in sports business management.

  • At last count, RDV Sports, through its three team charities, has raised and distributed more than $7 million (Orlando Magic Youth Foundation, Bear Hugs, Miracle Makers).

  • RDV Sports, the parent company of the Magic, was recently named the Outstanding Philanthropic Organization of the Year by the National Society of Fund-raising Executives. This past April, the Orlando Magic was named Orange County Public School's Outstanding Partner in Education for the 2000-2001 school year.

  • RDV Sports/Orlando Magic Community Relations programs annually impact an estimated 75,000 kids, while the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation has positively impacted more than 1 million children over the last 12 years. On an annual basis, Magic players log more than 100 community appearances to area schools, organizations and neighborhood centers.

  • No less than eight of the current Magic players have ticket programs benefitting at-risk youth.

  • In regard to tickets, a family of four can attend a Magic game for $40 (4, $10 tickets). There are several other ticket packages available, including family four-packs, half-season packages and group sales.

  • Under new Magic season ticket pricing, $10 per game seats as season tickets have been introduced (fans can get a season ticket for $450, 41 regular season games, four preseason games). In addition, for 2001-2002, the Orlando Magic will have 5000 seats available priced under $30. Season tickets will range in price from $10 to $140.

  • Through television programming, the NBA is broadcast in 206 countries in 42 languages. On the home front, the Orlando Magic works with five tourist groups to help promote basketball for visitors to Orlando. In addition, the Magic is working to conduct basketball camps overseas.

  • Since its inception, the Orlando Magic has played on national television 120-plus times, generating hundreds of millions of impressions. Local, state, national and international media cover the Magic on a regular basis. Orlandomagic.com, the team's web site generates more than 500,000 impressions each month.
