ORLANDO -- Foolishly considered a throw-in piece of the Dwight Howard trade early last season by a misguided few, Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic changed a lot of perceptions throughout the basketball world last New Year’s Eve.

That night – one in which he shattered Shaquille O’Neal’s nearly 20-year-old franchise record for rebounds in a game – also did wonders for what Vucevic thought of himself as a blossoming NBA center.

When he bombarded the Miami Heat for an eye-popping 29 rebounds on Dec. 31, Vucevic showed the rest of the NBA his enormous potential and personally sent a charge into his own confidence level.
