His first official NBA practice mostly a blur, Victor Oladipo couldn’t remember exactly the moment when the magnitude of the day hit him on Tuesday. But there was a point, he said, when he did stop and ponder that his first practice was the start of what figures to be a long and successful career.

Oladipo, the No. 2 overall pick in last June’s NBA Draft, went through his first NBA practice on Tuesday as the Orlando Magic opened training camp at the Amway Center. For Oladipo, there were a few jitters and times when he made mistakes when he was ``going too fast,’’ but he said the lasting memory from the day will be the fact that he was getting to live out a life-long dream of playing in the NBA.

``This is like the first chapter in – I’m crossing my fingers – a long, long journey. A long, long, long, long, long journey,’’ Oladipo said with a chuckle. ``It’s always memorable (your first time). I’m just happy to be here and I’m trying to take full advantage of it every day.’’
