ORLANDO -- Victor Oladipo rubbed fellow rookie Michael Carter-Williams off a screen, pushed the ball hard into the lane and encountered 6-foot-10, 240-pound power forward Brandon Davies.

In the blink of an eye, the Orlando Magic rookie guard made the decision of what to do in a split-second by crossing the ball over to his left hand and spinning 360 degrees to create an opening for a highlight-worthy layup.

Magic fans might want to get used to seeing such moves as that from Oladipo, who could now be on the verge of getting force-fed minutes as Orlando’s point guard what with veteran Jameer Nelson going down Wednesday night with a sprained foot.

Oladipo passed his first test at point guard in Wednesday’s second half and stayed with Carter-Williams – a fellow Rookie of the Year candidate – stride for stride as the Magic made all of the key plays in a 105-94 defeat of the Philadelphia 76ers.
