ORLANDO -- Outside of an unsightly 16-0 start to the game, the Orlando Magic played the defending champion Miami Heat even for much of Wednesday night. And for the most part, the Magic held superstar forward LeBron James to merely mortal numbers.

But when they couldn’t get past the poor start and couldn’t wipe out the hot shooting from James’ supporting cast, the Magic had little hope for success against the two-time champs.

A 16-point deficit to open the game sucked much of the life out of the Amway Center on Wednesday night, and James and Miami’s 3-point shooters did the rest to hand the Magic a 120-92 defeat before 17,256 fans.
