Josh Cohen’s Analysis: It’s too early in the season to jump to any conclusions. Preseason performances help form first impressions, but they don’t necessarily determine anything final or definitive.

With that said, however, it’s completely appropriate to praise a player if it’s warranted. And Victor Oladipo’s two very impressive showings in his first two exhibition games with the Magic deserve some recognition.

Against New Orleans in Jacksonville, Oladipo stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, nine assists, five rebounds and four steals. He was diligent on offensive and insistent on defense. Against Cleveland, he asserted himself as more of a scorer, posting a team-high 18 points.
