Josh Cohen's Analysis: Dwight Howard made the decision to divorce himself from the Magic. It was a choice that many believe would backfire on him.
To those in Orlando, it seemed like a match made in heaven. Howard’s glossy image and constantly improving performance made it seem illogical to dare flirt with betrayal.
However, the dreams of playing in a bigger market created too many temptations for him to resist. And ultimately after months of drama and indecision, Dwight forced the Magic to trade him away.
Regretful of the decision or not, Howard will never know what it would have been like to remain loyal to one franchise for his entire career.
