Cohen 8-Ball: 2013 Redo Draft
#1 CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
Actual Pick: Anthony Bennett
Redo Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Josh Cohen’s Analysis: It’s obviously very premature to come to any conclusions about any rookie, but Bennett has been absolutely abysmal in his first few months in the NBA. After 35 games played he is averaging 2.8 points and shooting a meager 28 percent from the field.
Considering Cleveland didn’t need another guard with Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters on board – though both have underachieved this season – and with Nerlens Noel a significant injury risk, the most appealing choice would have been Antetokounmpo. His Kevin Durant-like traits are striking and as he continues to develop he could become a franchise superstar.
