What Did You Do This Off-Season?

Keeping with the traditions of every off-season when the Magic players disperse after a rigorous regular season, this summer was no different as players headed all around America and beyond. From one player spanning the globe and traveling to Asia to others just relaxing with their family in Orlando, here is a look at what some players have been up to this off-season.

Travis Diener
"I just hung out, had fun. I was back home with my family. I just relaxed a little bit. I played in the summer league, but I relaxed a little while and tried to enjoy the summer a little bit."

Jameer Nelson
"Mostly just relaxed. I didn’t want to get started too early working out, but I did get a good amount of workouts in with my trainer and my shooting coach."

Keyon Dooling
"I relaxed a little, worked out a little, traveled a little. It was a pretty laid back off season. I went to the Bahamas a couple times, once just to relax, once was a business trip. I also went to Houston."

Grant Hill
"The Hall of Fame honored me with a locker. They had a locker presentation ceremony in Springfield, Massachusetts that coincided with my collection of African American Art. There was an opening party and the African American Art that I collect is on display at the Basketball Hall of Fame and it is right now for three months so I had that kind of going on. This last week I went down to Baton Rouge with the Magic organization to try and boost the morale of some of the evacuees, and delivered food and water, books and basketballs and went down there and tried to really support them. I co-hosted Live with Kelly Ripa, that was fun. They asked me to come in and fill in for Regis one day. I had a good time with that. She made it very comfortable."

Steve Francis
"I spent a lot of the off-season traveling and also I had my first kid."

DeShawn Stevenson
"I spent the off season working out a lot, and spent time with friends and family. I wasn’t able to take vacations or anything because I just had a newborn."

Pat Garrity
"The first part of my summer was basically consumed by having a baby and having ACL reconstruction surgery. When the CBA stuff started up in late May and early June, that kept me busy for a while."

Dwight Howard
"I’ve been resting but I have also traveled the world. I went to Hong Kong, I went to the Philippines and I went to Taiwan all for NBA Madness. I also went to Las Vegas, and to Detroit, and did a little appearance overseas with Adidas; I went everywhere."

Tony Battie
"I vacationed a little bit. Spent a lot of time with the family. I didn’t go anywhere abroad, but I went to Miami, Vegas, Philadelphia, New York, Texas, there’s a lot of family in those different areas."
