Time Warner/Sunshine Network Dispute

"The Orlando Magic is in constant communication with both parties and has explained how critical it is for us and for our fans that this issue be resolved. We are strongly encouraging both companies to come to an agreement very quickly. The Orlando Magic asks for and appreciates the support of our fans as negotiations continue."

Time Warner Cable and Sunshine Network have just ended a 10-year agreement effective January 1st. They have failed to reach a new agreement which allows Time Warner to carry Sunshine Network on their system.

Sunshine Network will continue to broadcast Magic games, however, those games will not be carried by Time Warner Cable until an agreement is reached. Please note, other Sunshine properties such as the University of Florida, Florida State, UCF and the Tampa Bay Lightning are also affected.

The Orlando Magic understands that Magic fans are being impacted by this dispute, and we are very disappointed that an agreement has not yet been reached. Because this matter is a business decision between Time Warner and Sunshine Network, our organization is not involved in the on-going negotiations. However, we are in constant communication with both parties and have explained how critical it is for us and for our fans that this issue be resolved. We are strongly encouraging both companies to come to an agreement very quickly. The Orlando Magic asks for and appreciates the support of our fans as these negotiations continue.

Fans can continue to follow Orlando Magic basketball in the following ways:
  • On Sunshine Network through Direct TV, DISH Network, and cable systems other than Time Warner (Adelphia, Americast Cable)
  • Via satellite dishes (which would include most sports establishments)
  • Via our flagship radio station WDBO-AM580
  • NBA's Inside Ticket (audio)
  • Purchase tickets (1-800-4NBATIX/407-89-MAGIC)

In addition, this dispute does not impact Magic games scheduled to air on the Magic Television Network (Flagship: WRBW-UPN 65) or on national TV, which can still be viewed on Time Warner Cable.

As always, per NBA regulations, Magic games broadcast by Sunshine Network are blacked out on the NBA League Pass for those Florida viewers who reside in the Magic territory.

Fans can call the following numbers to voice their opinions:
