  • Reece Gaines, Orlando Magic
With their first pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, Orlando selected Reece Gaines from Lousiville. He had a solid effort in his first pro showing, netting 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and dishing out five assists.

    The Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers debuted their first selection from this year's NBA Draft, guard/forward LeBron James (St. Vincent-St. Mary H.S.). The most-talked about high schooler to leave early finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists in his first game last night. In today's action, James scored the Cavaliers’ first five points of the afternoon, draining a long jumper from the left wing, then converting a twisting layup on Cleveland’s first two possessions.
