Orlando Magic and Chick-fil-A Announce New Partnership

ORLANDO, FL – The Orlando Magic and Chick-fil-A have formed a new multi-year partnership, Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins announced today. The partnership includes a FANtastic Fowl Shots promotion and signage on the stanchion under each basket at Amway Arena that reads: “Block Burgerz, Dunk Chikin” with Chick-fil-A’s signature cows.

The FANtastic Fowl shots promotion, which will run throughout the 2008-09 campaign, will allow Magic fans to redeem a free Chick-fil-A sandwich at participating Central Florida locations with their ticket stub following any Magic home game in which the team hits 20 free throws. The offer is good for the day after the game only and for any home games on Saturday in which the team meets the goal, the offer can be redeemed on the following Monday, as all Chick-fil-A locations are closed on Sundays.

“We are excited to have Chick-fil-A join the Magic family of corporate partners,” Orlando Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins said. “We believe this partnership will be mutually beneficial and will provide a unique opportunity for Chick-fil-A to reach our fan base while also rewarding fans who attend each home game.”

Chick-fil-A joins the Orlando Magic family of best-in-class national and local corporations that span a wide-variety of categories, including auto/motorcycle, auto/import, beverage/beer domestic, restaurant, athletic apparel and footwear, signage, bank and credit union, airline and telecommunications. The Magic currently have sponsors in 32 of the Top-50 categories as determined by the NBA, with each partnership agreement including unique elements tailored to each company’s communication goals.

“In joining with us as partners, several of the nation’s most respected corporations are communicating their commitment to the Magic now and for the future,” said Martins. “Our new and existing partners are very excited about the direction of the franchise and about the opportunity to be with us when the Orlando Events Center opens in 2010.”

“We are thrilled to partner with the Orlando Magic in such a unique and fun way,” said Chick-fil-A Area Marketing Director Cindy Coffman. “We look forward to seeing fans in the stores and hope to generate excitement about our home team and your neighborhood Chick-fil-A through this promotion.”
