Orlando Magic Telecast Schedule

ORLANDO (Sept. 4, 2008) – Sun Sports and FSN Florida will combine to offer Orlando Magic fans 77 regular season game telecasts during the 2008-09 season, with 42 scheduled on Sun Sports and 35 on FSN Florida. As the Magic mark their 20th season, this also marks the 20th season of Magic basketball on Sun Sports and the second year Magic games will be seen on FSN Florida.

The 2008-2009 Sun Sports & FSN Florida regular season schedule tips off with the Magic’s home opener versus the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, October 29, beginning at 6:30pm with the MAGIC LIVE pregame show on Sun Sports. Other highlights on the 77-game schedule include three games versus the NBA Champion Boston Celtics, two games versus the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers, and four games versus intrastate rival Miami HEAT.

For the sixth consecutive season, select Orlando Magic regular season games will also be produced in high definition. Specific HD telecasts and area providers offering the HD games will be announced at a later date.

Calling the action for Orlando Magic basketball on Sun Sports and FSN Florida will be longtime Magic announcer David Steele (play-by-play), celebrating his 20th season with the team, and former Magic coach and national NBA analyst Matt Guokas (analyst). MAGIC LIVE pregame shows will precede select telecasts along with MAGIC LIVE postgame coverage immediately following each game telecast. Both shows are hosted by Paul Kennedy, who also returns for his 20th season covering the Magic as host and courtside reporter. Sun Sports/FSN Florida’s Whit Watson will host select editions MAGIC LIVE pre- and postgame shows.

Sun Sports will premiere this year’s ORLANDO MAGIC PRESEASON SPECIAL statewide on Friday, October 17, at 6:30pm. The half-hour show, hosted by Paul Kennedy, will preview the upcoming season and introduce fans to the new faces on the team.
