Orlando Magic Hosts Reception for FAMU College of Law Board of Advisors and the American Bar Association at Team’s Experience Center
ORLANDO, Fla. – As part of a continuous commitment to the academic community of Central Florida, the Orlando Magic hosted a reception for the Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law Board of Advisors and the American Bar Association (ABA) on Monday, February 23.
“It’s great to have community partners that recognize the value of having Florida A&M’s law school here,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “The Magic have been great partners in so many different ventures in Parramore and to have them be part of what we are doing with the law school is equally important.”
The reception, held at the Magic’s Experience Center at 101 South Garland Ave. suite 204, in downtown Orlando, was one function in a series of events that the FAMU College of Law is involved with in order to receive accreditation from the ABA. The event was a show of community support for the college of law to the members of the ABA who were visiting Orlando.
The evening’s atmosphere and surroundings were uniquely different from the courtrooms, classrooms and law libraries that many of the accomplished attendees were accustomed to.
Three blocks from the rapidly rising new Events Center, the dynamic Experience Center features a replicated luxury suite, loge box, and club lounge, and allows visitors the opportunity to experience actual sightlines during events. The Experience Center is just a few hundred yards from the FAMU College of Law, located on Beggs Avenue.
“The FAMU College of Law is a great addition to our academic community,” said Orlando Magic Vice President of Community Relations and Government Affairs Linda Landman-Gonzalez, who was joined in attendance by Orlando Magic Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw. “The countless attorneys and judges who will study, and hopefully call Orlando home, impacts our region both economically and professionally.”
