Orlando Magic and Champions Sports Complex Create Partnership To Provide Development and Training Programs for Orlando Youth Basketball Players
Orlando, FL – September 2005 – The Orlando Magic and Champions Sports Complex announced today that they are partnering together to develop and train youth basketball players in the Central Florida area. In addition to hosting three Magic Basketball Camps at Champions, the Jr. Magic will host seasonal youth basketball leagues and the Jr. Magic Dance Team will hold a few dance clinics at Champions. Camps and Leagues will provide youth with instruction in basketball fundamentals, time to play games, and opportunities to see the Orlando Magic in action.
“I am excited for the opportunity to enhance the sport of basketball and help with the continuing development and training of young athletes in Central Florida while partnering with the Orlando Magic,” said Champions’ Executive Vice President and former Magic front office executive and player Dee Brown.
About Champions Sports Complex
Champions Sports Complex is a multi-sport training facility, located in South Orlando, with training in basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, soccer, cheerleading, and Performance Training. The facility is over 92,000 square feet and includes four basketball courts and/or eight volleyball courts, an indoor multi-purpose playing field, an outdoor turf field, five batting cages, Game Day Café (a full service restaurant), a video arcade, a conference room, and soon to be PROformance Rehabilitation. Champions is an official off-site for the AAU National Basketball Tournament and is a host of the AND1 High School Championships for the Southeast Region. Champions is a host for various tournaments and National competitions throughout the year and provides a practice facility for many Orlando-based clubs such as Orlando Volleyball Academy (OVA), FBVA-West, and local little league organizations.
