Magic Sign Three, Prepare For Camp

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Magic will hold their 2008-09 training camp at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, beginning Tuesday, September 30.  In addition, the Magic have signed free agents Dwyane Jones (F-C, 6-11, 251, 6/9/83, Saint Joseph’s), Jeremy Richardson (G-F, 6-7, 195, 3/1/84, Delta State) and Mike Wilks (G, 5-10, 180, 5/7/79, Rice).  The roster currently stands at 16 players (roster to follow).


The Magic will hold their annual Media Day on Monday, September 29, from 2-4 p.m. at the RDV Sportsplex.  Media is asked to use the entrance located off of Keller Road.  Following Media Day, the team will hold six “two-a-day” practice sessions.


Practices will be held at the Magic practice court at the RDV Sportsplex from September 30-October 5 from 9:30 a.m.-Noon and again from 4-6 p.m.  All sessions are closed to the public.  Media availability will be towards the end of each workout.  Head Coach Stan Van Gundy will be available after each session, while players will be available following the morning workouts only.  All times and length of practices are subject to change, so please call the Communications Department to confirm daily times.


Orlando begins the preseason at home on October 6 vs. Atlanta.  The Magic open the 2008-09 regular season at home on Wednesday, October 29, also against the Hawks.  The complete schedule is available through the team’s official website: orlandomagic.com. 


The Magic will hold a Select-A-Seat fan event on Sunday, September 28, from noon-3 p.m. at Amway Arena. The event is free and will feature Magic player appearances, Stuff and the Orlando Magic Dancers. The event allows fans to see remaining available seats.


Season tickets are available through the RDV Sportsplex Orlando Magic Box Office, by calling 407-89-MAGIC, or through Orlandomagic.com.  Season tickets remaining range in price from $10 to $99 per game with 12 different price points. There are a franchise-most 7,529 seats priced $25 or under per game. There is also a $27 lower bowl season ticket and tickets priced at $10 for the 11th straight year.   There are several ticket plans and group packages available.  Single-game tickets will go on sale in early October.
