Magic Sign Ousmane Cisse

The Orlando Magic have signed free agent forward Ousmane Cisse (OOS-mahn SEE-say), General Manager John Gabriel announced. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Cisse (6’9”, 250, 10/20/82) spent time with Adirondack and Brevard of the USBL during the 2002-03 season. He played in five games with the Magic during the 2003 Pepsi Orlando Pro Summer League, averaging 1.6 ppg., 2.4 rpg. and 1.40 blkpg. in 9.8 minpg.

Cisse was originally selected by Denver in the second round (47th overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft. He was an early entry candidate directly from St. Jude High School in Montgomery, Ala. Cisse was named First Team All-America by Parade Magazine and a McDonald’s All-American, after averaging 29.0 ppg., 16.0 rpg. and 12.0 blkpg. in 2000-01.

He will participate in the Magic’s training camp, which begins on Tuesday, September 30 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. Orlando’s roster now stands at 16 players.
