Magic Players Discuss Off-Season Plans

Before they departed for the summer, orlandomagic.com caught up with some Magic players and asked them what they planned to do during the off-season. Here's what they had to say.

Trevor Ariza
“Continue to work on my game. Work hard and try to get better.”

Carlos Arroyo
"I am going to be with my national team. I join them in June and then I am going to be playing in the World Games in Japan in August, so I am going to be playing the whole summer."

Tony Battie
“Hang out with the family, vacation. Nothing solid right now. I’ll probably go to Hawaii. I want to go to Europe somewhere and wherever my mom wants to go. I always let her pick a trip somewhere. I have the same off-season ritual that I have had for a couple years, and it works good for me. I will take a couple months off, a little family, a little vacationing. Late July (I will) start easing back into things. August, same thing, and by September I am ready to turn it up full blast and get ready to go to camp.”

Travis Diener
“Go home and relax a little bit, then start working out again, come back for the summer league. Maybe I’ll take a vacation somewhere, maybe the Bahamas, probably end up in Vegas.”

Keyon Dooling
“(I am going to go) fishing, work on my game, relax. I will be in Miami, so I will probably take in a couple (playoff) games.”

Pat Garrity
“I’ll probably just stick around here and play some golf, workout, maybe go on a couple of trips, but no big plans. I’ll go out west, to Idaho and fish with my dad out there.”

Dwight Howard
“I’ll be traveling overseas to play in the World Championships I'll also be going to Las Vegas to work with Team USA. I also plan on having my camp this summer and I also plan on working on my game so that next year the Magic can make the playoffs.”

Jameer Nelson
"It's probably going to take me a couple of weeks to wind down. Take a few weeks off. Me and Dwight are going to get together sometime during the summer and work out. I have to work that much harder, being one of the leaders of the team. There's going to be a lot more pressure on my shoulders, so I had to work that much harder. I have to get tougher mentally."

Bo Outlaw
“Work out and go bowling. I plan on bowling a lot."

Hedo Turkoglu
“Get some rest. I’m going to Cancun and vacation there for five days or a week. I'll try to do some resting, especially this summer because I’ve been feeling really banged up and it’s going to be a very good summer for me. After resting, I'll be working out sometime, trying to get a fresh body.”
