Orlando, FL -- The National Basketball Association today released its 2004-05 schedule and announced the Orlando Magic will tip off its 16th season on Wednesday, November 3 at home vs. Milwaukee. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
Season tickets are available through the Orlando Magic Box Office at 407-89-MAGIC. Tickets range in price from $10 to $84 with 12 different price points and prime locations available. There are 7,313 seats priced under $30 per game. Single-game preseason tickets will go on sale in September, while individual regular season tickets will go on sale at a later date.
The Magic’s preseason schedule will be announced later this week. Orlando opens training camp on October 5 at a site to be announced. The Magic’s over-the-air local and cable television schedules will be released in mid-August. Games will be televised by both the Magic Television Network and Sunshine Network. In Orlando, Magic Television Network broadcasts will air on the Magic’s flagship station, WRBW UPN-65.
All games can be heard on the Magic Radio Network throughout the state of Florida and in Orlando on the Magic’s flagship station, Newstalk AM 580 WDBO. Every game will also be broadcast on Spanish radio (stations TBA).
Orlando’s 2004-05 slate features nine nationally televised games - one on TNT (January 20 vs. Houston), two on ESPN (February 27 vs. Miami, April 8 vs. Detroit) and six on NBA TV (November 20 @ Indiana, December 19 @ Miami, January 1 @ Chicago, January 24 @ Houston, January 29 @ Washington, February 12 @ Philadelphia).
Each NBA team will play an 82-game regular season: 41 home and 41 away. The Magic will play 52 games vs. the Eastern Conference (18 games vs. the Atlantic Division, 18 games vs. the Central Division and 16 games vs. the Southeast Division) and 30 games against the Western Conference (10 games each vs. the Northwest Division, the Southwest Division and the Pacific Division).
Orlando will play 13 games in November (seven home, six away), 14 games in December (six home, eight away), 17 games in January (seven home, 10 away), 11 games in February (seven home, four away), 16 games in March (eight home, eight away) and 11 games in April (six home, five away).
The 2004-05 Magic schedule features 21 back-to-back contests (42 games played on consecutive nights), one more set than last season. The most popular days of the week on the Magic schedule is Wednesday and Saturday, where Orlando will play 18 games each (11 home, seven away on Wednesday; six home, 12 away on Saturday).
The Magic will enjoy a season-long five-game homestand from March 24-April 1. Orlando’s longest road trip will take place from December 6-15, when they will play six straight games on the road.
