Magic Announce 2005-06 Television Broadcast Schedule

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Magic announced today its 2005-06 local television schedule for both the Magic Television Network and Sun Sports. WRBW-UPN 65 serves as the over-the-air flagship station of the Magic Television Network for the seventh consecutive year, while Sun Sports will begin its 17th season as the Florida cable television home of the Magic.

78 of Orlando’s 82 regular season games will be televised. During the regular season, the club will appear on the Magic Television Network (MTN) a total of 35 times, while Sun Sports will carry 42 outings. ESPN will carry the game on Friday, December 16 @ Dallas nationally. Former Magic head coach Matt Guokas will once again join play-by-play veteran David Steele for the call of all MTN and Sun Sports telecasts.

The Magic Television Network’s broadcast schedule will consist of 21 road games and 14 home contests. MTN coverage on WRBW-UPN 65 begins Saturday, November 5 @ Washington (6:30 p.m. telecast start time). Each UPN 65 broadcast includes a half-hour pre-game show, “Dodge Countdown to Magic.” In addition, WRBW-UPN 65 will once again provide viewers a Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) option to listen to the broadcasts in Spanish.

Sun Sports’ 42-game regular season schedule includes 24 home games and 18 road contests. Their coverage begins with Opening Night on Wednesday, November 2 vs. Indiana (6:30 p.m. telecast start time). Each regular season Sun Sports telecast will include “Southern Ford Dealers Magic Tonight,” the network’s half-hour pre-game show, hosted by Paul Kennedy. Whit Watson will also host select editions of the pre-game show.

Sun Sports will team up again with Bright House Networks this season and produce 10 Orlando Magic regular season games in High Definition for Bright House Network's HD customers in Orlando and Tampa. Specific HD telecasts will be announced at a later date.

WRBW-UPN 65 is the UPN affiliate serving Central Florida. Available over-the-air to the entire market, UPN 65 is also carried by all area cable and satellite systems. Along with Magic games, UPN 65 broadcasts NFL pre-season Jacksonville Jaguars, SEC College Football, hit shows like Bernie Mac, Judge Joe Brown, Judge Judy, America's Next Top Model, Friday Night Smackdown, and new series such as The Tyra Banks Show and Everybody Hates Chris. UPN 65 and its sister stations, WOFL Fox 35 Orlando and WOGX Fox 51 Ocala, are part of the Fox Television Stations group.
