Dwight Howard to Host Prayer Breakfast
In what is to be an annual event, The Dwight D. Howard Foundation, Inc. will hold its first Prayer Breakfast for 150 pre-selected high school students from Jones, Evans, Olympia, Edgewater and Oakridge high schools. All students will receive a pair of tickets to the December 19th game vs. Toronto, Howard jerseys and additional giveaways.
Howard will speak to the teens about the importance of living a diligent life. He will draw from his experiences and talk about the many obstacles and accomplishments he encountered as a teenager and leaving his teenage years and entering adulthood. It will serve as a ‘pep talk’ for the students. Howard will also hold a Q&A with the teens. Other activities to include a motivational message from Magic Community Ambassador Dee Brown and a performance by FaithWorld Youth Ministries Chorus.
The Dwight D. Howard Foundation, Inc. is a faith-based organization whose mission is to help strengthen family relationships. The foundation’s goal is to bridge gaps that exist between parents and children. Eliminating delinquency in teenagers and eliminating illiteracy is a main focus for the foundation. Through reading, after-school and computer initiatives, as well as adopt-a-child programs and extracurricular activities, Dwight and his parents are committed to strengthening family relationships.
