OrlandoMagic.com examines the strengths of 2017 NBA Draft prospects.

- De’Aaron Fox has lightning quick speed. He is extremely fast end to end, which makes him electric in the open floor. He also has impressive footwork and a tight dribble, which makes it tough for defenders to strip the ball away from him.
- Fox is fairly explosive and extremely crafty. He puts bigs on skates in pick-and-roll switches. He has good hang time and has enough upper body strength to fend off defenders near the rim. Fox is very shifty and he tends to force defenders to collapse on him in the paint, which opens up plenty of assist opportunities (delivers pocket-passes well and can find teammates on the perimeter for open jumpers).
- Fox has a lot of defensive potential. He plays with relentless energy, hustle and tenacity. He’s also fearless. He was unintimidated when he matched up against Lonzo Ball in the NCAA Tournament. Fox has good lateral foot speed and he’s pesky with his hands (deflects a lot of passes).
