Charlotte Bobcats 103, Orlando Magic 87
The Charlotte Bobcats kept their perfect record intact on day three of the 2006 Pepsi Pro Summer League, topping the Orlando Magic 103-87 behind Adam Morrison and Sean May’s combined 40 points. Morrison notched his second 20+-point performance in as many days, pouring in 24 in almost 26 minutes of play, while May chipped in 16.

The Magic, who were down by as many as 19 early in the third, went on a 16-2 run midway through the quarter fueled by eight points from Erik Daniels to cut the Charlotte advantage to as little as five, 66-61, on a Matt Walsh three-pointer with 3:07 left in the period. But the Bobcats responded, extending their lead back into double digits, 77-62, to finish off the third frame. The Bobcats kept their 10+-point margin throughout the fourth as well, giving Charlotte their second double-digit victory this week.

The Magic kept it close early, but after scoring only one point in the last 2:36 of the first quarter, the Bobcats broke open their lead to 12, 29-17, by the end of the period. Adam Morrison hit 3-of-10 shots in the first half of play to lead the Bobcats with 10 points, as Charlotte cruised the remainder of the half en route to a 54-40 cushion at the break. Travis Diener got hot in the second period for Orlando, hitting on 3-of-4 shots from the field to pace the Magic with 10 as well.

Diener, along with Marcin Gortat, ended the game with 13, while Daniels pulled in 16 to lead the Magic.

The Bobcats, who are the only team in Orlando without a loss, have been led by Morrison and May in each of their three contests. After today’s action, Morrison is 18-of-48 from the field (37.5 percent), while May has hit 18-of-38 shots for 47.4 percent.
