Hello Orlando and World Wide Web aliens! Check out this new website. Isn’t it awesome? We have been changing the format of my website for the last couple of months. (Thanks for being patient.) The computer gurus at the Magic office always want to keep things fresh—much like I do to my shoes after every game—and my site is now the freshest of them all. I still can’t believe they give me my own column to “voice” my own opinion. I guess it is only fitting though, since otherwise you will never hear me. At least I can type.
So what is happening this summer? First, a little rest…I know that is my first priority. I had a few injuries this year, and I could definitely use a little R&R. But not much, because I am staying busy with lots of summer camps, birthday parties, church rallies, and neighborhood block parties. You know, now that I look at it, maybe I won’t get much rest. That’s okay with this dragon. Sleep is a waste of time anyway for me. You’ve never seen me close my eyes, have you?
Now that the shameless promotions are over, let’s talk basketball. I have already said good-bye to Gordan Giricek and Shammond Williams! I must say that I will really miss GG and Shammy; they are truly classy guys and my good buddies. But I now look forward to whooping their tails when they come back with the help of these two new studs. Who knows what is going to happen this off-season? We will assuredly see many new faces and lose some familiar ones, but I can almost guarantee one thing—we will be a whole lot better next season!!! We are stirring up the pot a whole lot more and I happily invite the possibility of hazing the new arrivals. I’m getting the shaving cream ready right now.
And while I am on the subject, thank you for still supporting your team! Granted, we have not performed as well this season as we would have liked, but you continue to be amazing fans! You have continued your undying support and appreciation for this young team, and we recognize that. Keep it up—keep showing up, screaming, and cheering, as our show is as good as ever. If nothing else, come to see the big name that the Orlando Magic is known for, the one everyone inspires to be like, the name heard across the globe, the individual whose autograph is begged for, the big-time repeat All-Star himself, the funkadelic dunkaholic, this year’s MVP…Stuff! Oh yeah, and Tracy McGrady puts on a pretty good show as well.
Thanks for checking in! Stop by frequently to see what kind of surprises I have for you. As for now, the first person to
email me the name of the Orlando Magic’s first draft pick of 2003 will receive a Stuff bobble head!
